Overview:
Independent, locally-owned small businesses are vital to economies but vulnerable to global economic changes. The pandemic highlighted their struggle to meet delivery and pick-up demands due to limited funds and flexibility.

Solutions from companies like Deliveroo and Uber Eats come at high costs, up to 30% per transaction, which small businesses find prohibitive. While SMBs could use e-commerce platforms or online payment portals, they lack the logistics and expertise. Additionally, customers prefer well-known brands for secure transactions.

In response, OnKard developed a low-cost, low-maintenance solution to cut development costs by 50% and keep operational expenses low. As a product designer, I helped build this in three months, focusing on tools for onboarding merchants and order management to differentiate from competitors.
